Scenes from the Ranch

The kitchen at the lodge is huge and full of light.


And our room is lovely. We’ve decided this is the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in.

The New Yorker in me sheds a little tear when I see storage space for several Le Creuset pots.

This morning was just gorgeous. We sat on the deck and enjoyed coffee and the sun.

Later in the morning, Mom started her lunch cooking class

Lunch was Roast Asparagus with Potatoes, Asparagus, and Lemon-Dill-Caper Drizzle

Mom and Ree, lookin’ cute.

In the afternoon, Ree had some lovely women come in to give us massages and do our nails!

….and now we’re getting ready to cook some dinner! More later.

As a New Yorker, I take full advantage of the ever evolving, always exciting restaurant scene. But most days, my “happy place” is found in my tiny Manhattan kitchen where I cook two meals a day. My perfect night is spent listening to NPR, while drinking a glass of wine, and creating a simple, (most often) vegetarian supper which I enjoy with my husband, Andy. In addition to blogging, writing, and planning events, I work full time as a Development Fundraiser.

    Sooo much fun for you out there together. Enjoy! I too, must say I am a bit envious not only of “all those” Le Creuset, but in multiple colors too! Lovely to look at and such an inspiration to cook.

    Are you going to give us the recipe for the lovely salmon/asparagus/roasted potatoes? It looks so good, and I would like to try it.
