A few weeks ago Three Many Cooks announced a giveaway, honoring Jamie Oliver’s TED Award. We asked you for photos of you cooking up something you love for the people you love.
Since we’ve never done a photo contest before, it’s taken us awhile to pull this one together, but we’ve finally done it. We’ve got a winner and we’ve got our prize ready to ship—a Kyocera ceramic knife and peeler set.
The winner is Nicole Dimauro who cooked Ina Garten’s Engagement Roast Chicken with her boyfriend.
To make up for being late on posting the winner we’re giving away a Kyocera paring knife. We’re keepin’ this one fast and simple. To enter, just tell us – What is your favorite fruit or vegetable? You have until 8:00 (Eastern Time) tonight and we’ll post the winner before we go to bed.
(The winner is Aileen!)
Here are the photos that Nicole sent in. How cute are they? I love her shirt. And here’s her Engagement Roast Chicken. Even though this picture was taken with her iPhone – I can tell it was delish!
Avocado!!!
My favorite vegetable has to be the potato. Just so many ways to cook them and it’s always good!
My favorite fruit is the pear. It’s sort of the underdog to the apple, but can be used in many of the same ways, and is always a surprise when it is. My favorite vegetable is the parsnip, for the same reason!
This is tough. There aren’t many fruits or veggies that I don’t like. I love rambutan. Not sure if I love it as much as I love the treat it is to finally find it so I can eat it! Its so rare to find them.
There’s so much out there to love – watermelon in season … divine.
Ever since I moved to California I’ve become obsessed with mangoes. I’ll eat them any way I can get them!
Tomatoes. I can’t wait for them to be in season again. The ones at the grocery store don’t compare.
Bell peppers. They are delicious raw or cooked!
My favorite is the tomato. So many sizes, varieties, uses and flavors. Easy to grow, available all year round, always gives a splash of color and if cooking inspiration ever fails, just eat them straight from the vine.
Brussells sprouts!
Tomato! And if you wanna get specific…sun-dried tomatoes are my favorite and are waaaay underutilized in my opinion. Cooked they have deep, rich flavor or they can be equally refeshing cut up in any way. You’re not gonna get more versatile(or healthy) than a tomato.
So many veggies, I love them all! I would have to say spinach because I can sneak it in anything and my family will eat it!ha.
My favorite fruit is strawberries
Anything citrus has been my mantra for a while not but avocados are right up at the top year-round.
Cucumber! cheap, year-round, great on the go, raw, in salads, in dips, tzatziki, as pickles, with any variety of other veggie/fruit . . . the possibilities are endless.
Fresh cherries!
Favorite fruits are strawberries from my grandma’s garden, warm from the hot early June sun.
Favorite vegetable… so tough, but probably spinach – good fresh or cooked and in so many dishes!
Red peppers!
The tree ripened plum! To die for :)!
