Serves 4
Serve alone or with yogurt and fresh fruit.
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups milk
2 medium apples, coarsely grated or finely chopped
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons agave, maple syrup, or honey
3 tablespoons coarsely chopped toasted almonds
1/4 cup each: dried cranberries and raisins
The night before mix oats and milk. When ready to serve, mix apples with lemon juice and add to oatmeal mixture along with agave, almonds, cranberries, and raisins. Serve.

Mmm, what a perfect breakfast!
this is light years better when you use prepared granola cereal rather than plain oats… it’s less mushy. i do, however, love your addition of lemon juice and the idea of maple syrup. i always use honey, but maple might bring out the flavor of the dried fruits and nuts better: thanks.
