Serves 6
Lemon-lime soda is traditional in this drink, but we prefer less sweet tonic water (and we adore Q!).
3 cups ice cubes
4 large mint sprigs
1/3 cucumber, halved lengthwise and sliced thin
1/2 orange, sliced thin (or 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced thin)
1 1/2 cups Pimms
1 bottle (750 ml) tonic (or 3 cups lemon-lime soda such as 7UP or Sprite)
Place ice, mint, cucumber, and orange (or strawberries) in a large pitcher. Using a wooden spoon, lightly beat ingredients over ice to release flavors. Add Pimms and then tonic. Stir and serve.

I love Pimm’s! I had never heard of it in the US, but here in England everyone enjoys Pimm’s O’Clock! Your recipe looks delicious and I can’t wait to try it!

Looks beautiful; reminiscent of a Sangria but I admit, have never put cucumber in Sangria! I’ve heard of Pimm’s, have seen a couple of recipes appear lately for cocktails, but have yet to find it in a store near me so I’ll just have to appreciate from afar I guess. 🙁

Barb, Pimms is very much a British Sangria. We make ours with ginger beer and sprite, oranges, lemons, limes, mint, and lots of ice. No cucumber in the Bracegirdle house, James won’t abide it! *sigh*

#1 Google result for “Pimms pitcher,” Maggy. That’s really something to hang your hat on. Also–hey, thanks!

Make it with fever tree tonic. Not as sweet but very refreshing. Available everywhere in the US. In gin section.
