Good news! We originally announced giving away a signed set of my five books. Since then, my publisher has kicked in an additional 5 copies of Perfect Recipes for Having People Over, so we have six winners instead of one!
Thank you all for your stunningly right-on responses to “This holiday season, I will (or will not)…. If you can even partially make good on your desires, it’ll be a happy month.
Last giveaway, we hand picked winners. This time it was just too hard, so we let random.org help us choose. Without hesitation, it offered the following numbers: 40, 68, 104, 121, 154, 184.
Kelly C (#40), winner of signed copies of all my books, says she “will not stress over last minute things on my to-do list. No one will know what I didn’t have time to do and I’ll be more relaxed.” You’re right, Kelly, and since you’ll be more relaxed everyone around you will be too.
Katie (#68) will “cook more savory food and let others cook the treats.” We all have our weak spot. It’s good you’ve acknowledged yours and are taking steps to put yourself in charge.
Jessica J (#104) plans to “remember what’s important and enjoy the season rather than get caught up in the consumerism.” You’ll read in Sharon’s post next week that our family is not exchanging gifts for the first time ever this year. We’re a little nervous about it, but we’re pretty sure it’s gonna feel good.
Shay (# 121) wants to “remember the true meaning of the season”… and plans to “get down on the floor and play with my kids rather than doing so much rushing around.”If you get down on the floor and play with your kids, we’re certain Christmas will come.
Christi L (#154) plans to “not eat the majority of the cookies my children and I bake during our traditional 12 Days of Cookies bake-fest.” Moderation—especially at holiday time—is hard for us food lovers. Here’s to not putting on that extra five pounds this month.
Mary Halter (#184) is going “to try to relax and enjoy company and not stress over my cooking.” That’s want I want too, Mary, because I actually believe the less we stress, the better our food will taste.
And although she didn’t win a book, I loved our very last comment — #201 from Pat who said, “I will do something nice to someone I don’t know.”
I’ve just moved that one to the top of my list.
