Q. Darlyne Asks: For your Simple, Seasonal Pumpkin Bread recipe, can I use a pullman pan to bake it? I bought a pullman pan to make quick breads but I don’t quite know how long to bake them since the pan is narrower and longer.
A. It seems most pullman pans are around 13X4X4 inches. The average 9-inch loaf pan is 9X5X3 inches, so the square footage is pretty different. I’m sure you could bake our pumpkin bread in the pullman pan. Our recipe makes 2 loaves so you’d probably just use more than half the batter to make one loaf and then simply use the rest of the batter to make mini loaves. I think your baking time could be longer as well. You’re just gonna have to play a little but I don’t think you’ll go too far wrong with this information. Obviously share with us what you’ve learned after you try it!
