How much coconut milk do I need in oder for it to boil down to 1 1/2 cups?

Q.  Gayle Asks: I want to make the Terrific Triple Coconut Cake. My problem is how much coconut milk I need to boil it down to 1 1/2 cups?  I have coconut milk beverage unsweetened 50 calories 32 oz.carton. Do I need canned coconut milk?

A.  Yes, Gayle, You’re gonna need real coconut milk–2 cans of it and I think they’re about 13.5 ounces each. Simmer those 2 cans to 1 1/2 cups. Oh, and don’t get light coconut milk. From what I hear the cakes come out dry. Thanks for being in touch.
