Q. Penny Asks: First off, I love your book The Perfect Recipe for Losing Weight & Eating Great … I consider it a book for basic healthy, everyday eating. (Your method for roasting veggies has transformed my life!) However, I feel that a lot of the hints and tips throughout the book are targeted to people who work from their home or are otherwise home for the most part during the week. What different advice would you offer to the person who leaves home at 7 a.m. and arrives back 7 p.m. Mon-Fri?
I do have refrigerator/microwave available to me at the office. I also spend many Sundays cooking ahead for the week. I don’t have a ton of energy for doing too much weeknights for the next day. You could probably develop another entire book from the ideas you have on this topic alone! I would be the first in line to purchase…
A. About The Perfect Recipe For Losing Weight and Eating Great being a book for people with semi-flexible schedules, I think you’re right. I work very full-time… but I make my own schedule. Being gone from your house 12 hours a day, 5 days week, sounds like you have either an extraordinary commute or a demanding job with long hours. My first question: Do you love your job? If so, you’re blessed. If not, might you be able to consider onr that offers more time for yourself? Given the economy, I realize that’s easier said than done.
